| NSST Skills Testing for Learn to Play |
In order to give our players & their families an accurate gauge of their skill-development, Kent Valley Hockey Association has chosen to follow Hockey Canada's National Skills Standards & Testing Program.
This program, carefully tailored to the needs of our beginning players, provides an impetus towards fundamental skills development and motivation within the player through statistical comparison with peer groups across North America.
Displayed below is the KVHA Testing layout, which participants in the LTP Program will utilize on three (3) occasions to chart their progress and earn their KVHA LTP diploma, preparing them for their eventual graduation into full-fledged membership on KVHA teams at all levels and maximizing their enjoyment of the sport of hockey. At the conclusion of the LTP Program, on March 8th, 2008, KVHA will award trophies & diplomas to all players completing the program. We will also be hosting a small Ice Cream Social, following the awards presentation, in appreciation of our players & their families, as well as to provide an outline of what to expect through future KVHA membership.
